PURCHASE_ OF LOTS_ IN BLOCKS 44_ AND 45_ FOR NEW COURTHOUSE_ SITE <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 2/8/91: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners DATE: Feb. 8, 1991 FILE: <br />THRU: James E. Chandler. <br />County Administrator�� <br />PURCHASE OF LOTS 12 S <br />13, BLK. 44, LOT 3, <br />SUBJECT: BLK. 44, AND LOT 10, <br />BLK. 45 FOR NEW COURT- <br />HOUSE SITE <br />FROM: Randy Dowling <br />Asst to County AdministratoREFERENCES: <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Board, <br />during <br />its December 18, 1990 regular meeting, <br />approved the new <br />courthouse <br />site and <br />authorized staff to <br />proceed with land <br />acquisition. The <br />Board has <br />approved a public hearing <br />for the March 5, <br />1991 Commission <br />meeting to <br />execute <br />Lots 1 & 2, Blk. <br />45 and Lot 3.1, <br />Blk. 45 Option <br />Agreements. <br />The <br />proposed Courthouse <br />site consists of 15 <br />parcels and 13 <br />property owners. <br />Therefore the notice and <br />public hearing are not <br />required. <br />CURRENT <br />Bernice Meyer, owner of Lots 12 8 13, Block 44, Dave Whitfield, owner of Lot <br />3, Block 44, and Janice Diggs, owner of Lot 10, Block 45 have agreed to sell <br />their property for $138,000, $125,000, and $104,000 respectively. These <br />prices are consistent with the acquisition budget. The property owners have <br />signed Option to Purchase and Contract for Sale and Purchase Agreements. <br />The Whitfield property has four month-to-month leases attached to it but the <br />leases will have no schedule or monetary impact. <br />Lots 1 8 <br />2, Block 45 <br />and Lot <br />3.1, Block 45 are being <br />acquired according to <br />Section 125.355 F.S. <br />which allows the County to not <br />disclose its appraisals <br />but require <br />a public <br />hearing <br />with 30 days notice. <br />However, the Meyer, <br />Whitfield, <br />and Diggs <br />property <br />appraisals were made available to the owners <br />and their <br />acquisition <br />is being <br />made according to Chapter <br />73 F.S. and the <br />Resolution <br />of Condemnation. <br />Therefore the notice and <br />public hearing are not <br />required. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Board approve Bernice Meyer's, Dave <br />Janice Diggs' Option to Purchase and Contract for Sale <br />Agreements and authorize the Board Chairman to execute the <br />all other related necessary documents. <br />FEB � 1 '�11, 23, eOor <br />Whitfield's, and <br />and Purchase <br />agreement and <br />
