"SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTOR <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: OFFICE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SPACE NEEDS MASTER PLAN <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On November 20, 1990, the Board of County Commissioners authorized a <br />Request For Qualifications to be % advertised for the subject <br />consulting services. A review committee was appointed by the County <br />Administrator and on January 2, 1991 five proposals were received for <br />review. On January 16, 1991, the committee met and heard oral <br />presentations from four of the five firms that submitted. <br />Through a point system three firms were ranked and on January 16, <br />1991 the Board authorized staff to negotiate with the number one firm <br />Vickrey, Ovresat, and Awsumb (VOA). <br />ANALYSIS• <br />Commissioner Scurlock and this writer met with VOA representatives on <br />February 5, 1991, and negotiated a contract at a not to exceed cost <br />of $85,000.00 with reimbursables not to exceed $745.00. This price <br />was to include the entire scope of work that was outlined in our <br />Request For Qualifications. <br />FUNDING• <br />Monies for this service will come from General Fund Contingency. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS• <br />Staff recommends approval of the contract and requests authorization <br />for their Chairman to execute the formal documents. <br />24 <br />
