ASHER <br />STAFFED BY: <br />ASSISTANT DIREC OR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: <br />ENGINEERING FIRM SELECTION <br />HYDROGEOLOGICAL SERVICES FOR <br />DESIGN <br />ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION <br />OF TWO RAW <br />WATER PRODUCTION WELLS RATED <br />AT 2 MGD EACH <br />AT INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SOUTH.COUNTY <br />REVERSE <br />OSMOSIS PLANT <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Department of Utility Services received twelve (12) responses to <br />its Request for Proposals to provide engineering services for the <br />above -referenced project. The selection committee reviewed the <br />twelve (12) responses and selected five (5) firms to be interviewed <br />for the project. <br />ANALYSIS <br />On March 21, 1991, the selection committee interviewed the five (5) <br />firms and, as a result of the interviews, ranked the firms as <br />follows: <br />1. Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan, Inc. <br />2. Missimer.and Associates <br />3. Jammal and Associates <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners authorize the Department of Utility Services to <br />conduct negotiations and to proceed with an agreement with the first <br />choice firm of Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan, Inc., based upon <br />the outcome of the negotiations. The Department also requests <br />approval to proceed with negotiations.'.with the second and/or third <br />selection if negotiations fail. <br />38 <br />
