0 4. Disinfect and bacteriologically test all new potable water piping. <br />B. Connection to existing lines to which piping of this Contract must connect: <br />1. Expose buried lines to confirm or determine horizontal and vertical location of all <br />underground piping, pipe diameter, end connection, and pipe material. <br />2. Furnish and install all material, labor, and equipment including appropriate pipe, <br />fittings, specials, and appurtenances to make proper connections. <br />3. Coordinate with OWNER to schedule installation including nights and <br />weekends, to limit operational outages. <br />4. Supply temporary plugs and thrust restraint, if piping is not available. <br />PART 2 — PRODUCTS (NOT USED) <br />PART 3 — EXECUTION <br />3.01 GENERAL <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall coordinate construction and reconstruction work with the <br />OWNER and ENGINEER. Unless otherwise indicated, the CONTRACTOR shall be <br />responsible for the sequence of the work. All work shall be performed in accordance with <br />applicable safety rules and regulations. <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall insure that any utilities connected to structures, equipment, <br />and facilities to be removed, relocated, salvaged, replaced, or abandoned shall be <br />rendered inoperable, replaced with new utilities, or adequately bypassed with temporary <br />utilities before proceeding with reconstruction. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall take precautions to avoid damage to adjacent facilities and to <br />limit the reconstruction activities to the extent indicated. If reconstruction beyond the <br />scope indicated is required, the CONTRACTOR shall obtain approval from the OWNER <br />prior to commencing work. <br />3.02 DISPOSAL <br />A. Clearing and grubbing and removal of debris, where necessary, shall minimize <br />interference with roads, streets, walks, and other adjacent occupied or used facilities <br />which shall not be closed or obstructed without permission from the OWNER. Alternate <br />routes shall be provided around closed or obstructed traffic ways. <br />B. Site debris, rubbish, and other materials resulting from reconstruction operations shall be <br />legally removed and disposed of at the CONTRACTOR's expense. Structures and <br />equipment to be demolished shall be cleaned prior to demolition and the wash water <br />properly disposed. No trace of these structures shall remain prior to placing of backfill in <br />the areas from which structures were removed. <br />C. Refuse, debris, and waste materials resulting from demolition and site clearing operations <br />shall not be burned. All refuse and waste material shall be disposed of at the IRC Landfill <br />with the CONTRACTOR paying all transportation and disposal fees. <br />END OF SECTION <br />01010-3 <br />
