M IN <br />.AND STAFFED CAPITAL PROJE /GINEER <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF ERVICES <br />SUBJECT: CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE NORTH BEACH <br />REVERSE OSMOSIS (R.O.) PLANT <br />BACKGROUND <br />Bids have been received for the North Beach R.O. Plant expansion and <br />will be awarded by the end of April. In keeping with this schedule, <br />:<.we are now prepared to contract the construction and final brine <br />treatment disposal services. For a summary of services associated <br />;- with this project, see the attached letter dated April 1, 1991, from <br />, Camp Dresser and McKee, Inc. <br />ANALYSIS <br />There are three cost elements associated with this project; they are <br />as follows: <br />1. General services during construction: $ 46,858.00 <br />(Attachment B-1) <br />2. Resident inspection services: 49,639.00 <br />(Attachment B-2) <br />3. Permitting and startup services: 26,072.00 <br />(Attachment B-3) <br />Total $122,569.00 <br />The total amount for construction services is $96,497.00, which is <br />approximately 60 of the estimated construction cost of $1.6 million. <br />This is in an appropriate range historically for projects of this <br />nature. For a detailed Scope of Services, see Attachment A (Scope <br />of Services) for the attached Work Authorization. For specific <br />details of permitting and brine treatment -requirements, see the <br />attached copy of the Plant Permit No. IT31-188147. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of*the Department of Utility Services.recommends that the, <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the attached Work <br />Authorization with Camp Dresser and McKee Inc., for $122,569.00. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />Work Authorization with Camp Dresser and McKee, Inc. <br />in the amount of $122,569. <br />CDM PROPOSAL AND WORK AUTHORIZATION ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF <br />CLERK TO THE BOARD. <br />56 <br />
