The presentation was <br />followed by an interactive exercise, distribution of surveys and comment cards, <br />and an open <br />format for one-on-one discussion with the staff and consultants. The findings from the <br />interactive dot exercise, the comment cards and the non -user surveys are further explained in <br />the following sections. <br />4.5.1 Interactive Dot Exercise <br />During the interactive exercise, the participants were asked to identify where they lived with <br />a blue dot and the three places within the County they frequent the most with green dots. <br />Additionally, participants who are existing transit users were asked to identify three areas <br />they would like to see transit service expanded to that are not currently served by transit with <br />orange dots. Those could include new areas for service expansion or extended service hours <br />and weekend service in existing areas. Several people participated in this exercise and <br />provided their input. <br />The most frequently traveled places identified by the workshop participants are listed below: <br />• Major commercial destinations — Indian River Mall, Vero Fashion Outlets <br />• Shopping centers — Publix, Wal-Mart, Target, Winn Dixie, Is' --Mart, Home Depot <br />• Community destinations — North Indian River County Library, Indian River County <br />Administration Complex, Gifford Health Center <br />• Medical facilities — Sebastian River Medical Center, Indian River Memorial/Health <br />Center <br />• Educational destinations — Indian River State College <br />4.5.2 Summary of One -on -One Discussion and Comment Cards <br />MPO Staff and the Consultant Team were available for one-on-one discussion with the <br />workshop participants to explain the Transit Development Plan update process and receive <br />input on transit needs and opportunities. For the participants who have never used the public <br />transportation service, that opportunity was used to educate them about the existing GoLine <br />service and the Community Coach paratransit service.
