_I <br />BOOK 83 FAvE 526 <br />WHEREAS, Senate Bill 250 gives no consideration to whether Indian <br />River County is doing a good job presently in registering people to vote or <br />whether the County has the resources to fund these new requirements; and <br />WHEREAS, Senate Bill 250 may create an environment for increased <br />voter fraud; and <br />WHEREAS, Senate Bill 921, an alternate, is acceptable since it is <br />voluntary and funds part of the costs, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />I. Indian River County is opposed to adoption of Senate Bill 250, since the <br />Bill is an unwarranted, unnecessary, and expensive infringement upon <br />the rights of state and county governments, and since the adoption of <br />the Bill would increase voter registration fraud. <br />2. Copies of this resolution be provided to Senator Bob Graham and <br />Senator Connie Mack. <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner W h e e 1 e r , <br />and the motion was seconded by Commissioner Eggert , and, upon being <br />put to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Richard N. Bird Aye <br />Vice Chairman Gary C. Wheeler Aye <br />Commissioner Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Aye <br />Commissioner Margaret C. Bowman. Aye <br />Commissioner Carolyn K.
