JAN 21^ <br />BOOK <br />the roof now and that one level can be added in the future <br />providing additional space for 140 cars. <br />Judge Vocelle commended Commissioner Wheeler's effort to <br />expand the committee to bring in everyone involved in this facility <br />and thank the Bar Association and everyone who has had an input <br />with the architects on the design of the building. While they have <br />had to compromise on various matters such as having the Public <br />Defender and the State Attorney in the building, he felt upon <br />reflection that this probably is a better way to do it. He also <br />wished to comment on the input of Mike Thomas, who is a former <br />court administrator. As part of their agreement, the architects <br />will design a mock courtroom where we can go in and see where <br />everyone will sit and function. <br />Judge Vocelle recommended that the Board approve the design as <br />submitted, and agreed that the out parcel should be acquired now <br />instead of later. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. The Motion was <br />voted on and carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Bird asked where the construction headquarters <br />would be based during construction, and Pat Adams of Syntex Reed <br />Construction Management advised that they are considering using the <br />area between the out parcel and the garage since the construction <br />of the garage will begin sometime well after the beginning of the <br />courthouse. <br />Commissioner Bird felt it would be very helpful if we could <br />acquire that out parcel now so as to provide a larger -area for the <br />construction base. <br />PROPERTY EXCHANGE/TOWN OF INDIAN RIVER SHORES <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 1/14/92: <br />24 <br />
