_� --7 1I i <br />The Indian River County Board of County Commissioners, on November <br />19, 1991, authorized the Department of Utility Services to negotiate <br />with a vendor for the removal of the Roseland Plaza Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant (see attached minutes). Three vendors who move, <br />install, and maintain both new and used wastewater treatment plants, <br />and two scrap dealers were contacted. <br />,ANALYSIS: <br />Scrap dealers will not take scrap steel unless it is cut up in small <br />sections. If they have to cut up the material, the cost is about <br />$100 per ton. This plant has a total weight of 9 tons. Two of the <br />_ three vendors who work with treatment plants expressed no interest <br />in the plant. One vendor, Allen Environmental Services, has agreed <br />to dismantle, load, and transport the Roseland Plaza Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant. In lieu of monetary compensation, the vendor will <br />receive the treatment plant at no cost to the County (see attached <br />Contract Agreement). <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the Contract Agreement for the <br />removal of the Roseland Plaza Wastewater Treatment Plant, and <br />authorize the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners to <br />execute the Contract Agreement. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Eggert having left the room <br />temporarily) approved the Contract Agreement with <br />Allen Environmental Equipment, Inc. for removal of <br />the Roseland Plaza Wastewater Treatment Plant. <br />CONTRACT AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE <br />BOARD <br />OSLO ROAD FORCE MAIN REDESIGN AND VISTA PROPERTIES WASTEWATER <br />TREATMENT FACILITIES SEWER INTERCONNECTION <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 1/17/92: <br />83 <br />p, r <br />�; ��,i. r.�. <br />
