I <br />ma 8 a :4 <br />FH..�E <br />REC RIMMM DATION <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends the Board of County <br />Commissioners approve the Department's takeover and operation of the <br />above -referenced plants until the facilities are connected to the <br />County system, at which time the plants will revert back to the <br />Indian River County School'Board. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, to authorize the Utilities <br />Department to take over and operate the water and <br />wastewater facilities listed in staff memo until the <br />facilities are connected to the county system, `'-,At <br />which time the facilities would revert to the School <br />Board for surplus, as recommended by staff. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Scurlock asked whether we are <br />indemnified for failure of the water system. <br />Director Pinto responded in the negative, but thought the <br />facilities are adequate to protect us. He pointed out that, for <br />instance, in Sebastian they are using bottled water.
