Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Right -of -Way Acquisition along 4th Street West of <br />27th Avenue for Sidewalk <br />REF.LETTER: J.W. Davis to Mr. & Mrs. Forrest P. Showalter <br />dated Mar. 23, 1992 <br />DATE: June 29, 1992 FILE: 4sidewalk.agn <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Showalter of Miami, Florida have agreed to <br />sell to the County a parcel of land 10' by 329.84 feet along 4th <br />Street just west of Citrus Elementary School. This right-of-way <br />is needed to complete a section of sidewalk along 4th Street. <br />The Showalters have agreed to sell the land for -$2,000, which <br />equates to approximately $0.61/s.f. Staff has been trying to <br />acquire this right-of-way since Jan.; 1992. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />This right-of-way is needed to provide for a 5' wide sidewalk <br />along the north side of 4th Street. The alternatives are as <br />follows: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve the right-of-way acquisition at a cost of $2,000. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Not approve the purchase and not proceed with the sidewalk <br />construction. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Alternative No. 1 is recommended. Funding to be from Secondary <br />Road Trust Fund ($200,000 budgeted in FY 91/92 budget). <br />55 <br />{JU <br />
