UW -92 -18 -DS <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Department of Utility Services has prepared three separate <br />projects for the purpose of replacing existing galvanized water <br />lines with Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) as approved in the 1991-1992 <br />budget. These lines are a continuing maintenance and low pressure <br />problem. Survey information is needed for the start of the <br />construction plans for in-house design of these three projects. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The bid proposal process to obtain survey data for the projects <br />generated three bid responses (attached). Masteller, Moler & Reed, <br />Inc., was the lowest bidder for surveying services for all three <br />water line replacement projects. The low bids for these professional <br />land surveying service projects, along with their respective site <br />locations, were as follows: <br />A. Project No. 1 - Pineview Park SID and Rivenbark SID $6,480.00 <br />B. Project No. 2 - Cooks SID, Hidden Acres SID, and 5,880.00 <br />Ixora Park SID <br />C. Project No. 3 - Vero Mall vicinity, Ridgewood SID, 4,960.00 <br />South Side Park SID vicinity, and <br />Casa Rio SID vicinity <br />These projects are a part of a continuing effort by this Department <br />to replace galvanized water lines in Indian River County. Funding <br />for these projects will be from the Department's renewal and <br />replacement funds. <br />RECOMM=QATION <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners approve and execute the three professional land <br />surveying proposals submitted by Masteller, Moler & Reed, Inc. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously approved <br />and authorized the Chairman to execute three <br />contracts with Masteller, Moler & Reed, Inc., for <br />professional land surveying, for the projects and in <br />the amounts listed in staff's memo. <br />THREE CONTRACTS <br />ARE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />58 <br />
