PINTO <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />PREPARED WILLIAM McCAIN <br />AND STAFFED CAPIT NGINEER <br />BY: DEPAR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: LANDFILL REGIONAL LIFT STATION AND ASSOCIATED GRAVITY <br />SEWER CONSTRUCTION <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. US -90 -15 -CS <br />BACKGROUND <br />On May 12, 1992, the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners approved the final payment to Owl and Associates, <br />completing the 82nd Avenue force main project to the entrance of the <br />landfill (see attached meeting minutes and agenda item). We are now <br />prepared to proceed with the first phase of the landfill collection <br />system; this includes the construction of a regional lift station <br />and the associated collection system. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The estimated construction cost for this project, including a 10% <br />contingency, is $121,000.00. The plans and specifications for this <br />project have been completed in-house, and the project is ready for <br />bid. The funding for this project will come from SWDD Account No. - <br />411 -217-534-066.51. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners authorize the Department of Utility <br />Services to proceed with this project. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />authorized the Department of Utility Services to <br />proceed with Project No. US -90 -15 -CS, as set out in <br />staff's memo. <br />60 <br />
