r ® � <br />ANALYSIS <br />Negotiations with"Mock, Roos and Associates, Inc., for professional <br />services have been completed, and a standard form of agreement <br />between owner and engineer for professional services has been <br />submitted to the County for approval. The work authorization in <br />this agreement consists of studying, reporting, preliminary <br />engineering design and permitting, final design, bidding services, <br />resident inspection, inspection after substantial completion, and <br />additional services; such as, surveying and soil exploration for the <br />tower foundation. Description of services is explained in Exhibits <br />A and B. <br />The following are services to be performed on a not -to -exceed basis: <br />1. Preliminary Engineering $ 8,000.00 <br />2. Final Design 18,500.00 <br />3. Bidding Services 2.500.00 <br />Subtotal $29,000.00 (3.00%) <br />4. Construction Phase, with $36,500.00 (4.00%) <br />engineer's resident inspection <br />These fees are in line in relation to the degree of difficulty of <br />construction. <br />Additional services on a not -to -exceed basis: <br />1. Survey $ 2,500.00 <br />2- Cni 1 Ayr0 oration and testing <br />_r.__.. ti <br />Subtotal $ 7,500.00 <br />3. Operation Phase/Inspection after one 2,000.00 <br />year (optional) <br />Total amount to be approved $ 75,000.00 <br />The preliminary estimated construction cost is $860,000.00. Funding <br />for the consulting fee will be paid from the water impact fee fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends execution. of the <br />agreement with Mock, Roos and Associates, Inc., and approval for the <br />submitted Scope of Services. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously approved <br />the agreement with Mock, Roos and Associates, Inc. <br />and the submitted Scope of Services, as recommended <br />by staff. <br />SAID AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />45 <br />Aub 25 1997 <br />BOOK / f';UE j� <br />
