COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR MATTERS <br />11.A. 17-0951 Collective Bargaining Agreement Between Indian River County and <br />Teamsters, Local Union No. 769 - FY2017/18 General Wage Increase <br />Recommended Action: Staff respectfully recommends approval of a 2.5% general wage increase for <br />employees represented by the Teamsters, Local Union No. 769 effective the first <br />full pay period in October 2017 and requests the Board authorize its Chairman to <br />sign the amendment to Article 33 Wages of the collective bargaining agreement <br />providing for the general wage increase. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />First Amendment - Teamsters Collective Bargaining Agreement <br />Exhibit A <br />Assistant County Administrator Michael Zito requested that the Board consider a <br />2.5% general wage increase for the Teamsters Union Local No. 769, commencing <br />the first full pay period in October 2017. <br />• A motion was made by Vice Chairman O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner Solari, to <br />approve staffs recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 4- Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, and <br />Commissioner Solari <br />Absent: 1 - Commissioner Zorc <br />11.13. 17-0970 Hurricane Irma Yard Waste Tipping Fees <br />Recommended Action: It is requested that the Board of County Commission ratify the Administrator's <br />decision to waive landfill tipping fees for yard waste and vegetative debris for the <br />period of Wednesday, September 13th, 2017, to the close of business on <br />Wednesday, September 20th, 2017. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />County Administrator Jason Brown announced that Hurricane Irma generated a <br />huge volume of debris in the community, and pursuant to Resolution 2016-120, he <br />had directed all landfill tipping fees for yard waste to be waived for one week <br />effective September 13, 2017 through September 20, 2017. He requested that the <br />Board ratify this decision. Due to the possible arrival of Hurricane Maria, <br />• Administrator Brown also requested that the Board approve an extension of the fee <br />waiver for one additional week, through the close of business on Wednesday, <br />September 27, 2017. <br />Indian River County Florida Page 23 <br />
