CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICERS and GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES <br />9.A. 17-1071 <br />Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar: Application for Fiscal Year 2017 <br />Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant <br />Recommended Action: Approve <br />Attachments: Letter Dated October 2, 2017 <br />Sheriff Deryl Loar requested authorization from the Board to pursue a federal grant <br />in the amount of $20,168, for the purchase of ballistic shields and blood clotting <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman O'Bryan, seconded by Chairman Flescher, to <br />authorize the Indian River County Sheriffs Office to pursue the Edward Byrne <br />Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG): Local Solicitation - Active Shooter <br />Protection Project, in the amount of $20,168, for the purchase of ballistic shields and <br />blood clotting packs. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 4 - Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, and <br />Commissioner Zorc <br />Absent: 1 - Commissioner Solari <br />The Chairman called a recess at 10:30 a.m., and reconvened the meeting at 10:42 <br />a.m., with four Commissioners present (Commissioner Solari absent). <br />10.
