Commissioner Bob Solari,Vice Chairman <br /> 14.B.1. 18-1353 Sale of Indian River Memorial Hospital <br /> Recommended Action: Discuss and opt to: 1.Ask the County Attorney to research the County's <br /> remainder interest in the event of a sale of the Indian River Memorial Hospital, <br /> or 2. ask Staff to come back and explain to us what the impact of a sale might <br /> mean to the County government and its taxpayers <br /> Attachments: Commissioner's Memorandum <br /> Vice Chairman Solari discussed the potential sale of Indian River Memorial <br /> Hospital and asked that the County Attorney and staff research the County's <br /> remainder interest in the event of a sale, and bring back their findings at the <br /> next meeting. <br /> County Attorney Dylan Reingold read the provisions of Chapter 155.40, Florida <br /> Statutes into the record and explained how the net proceeds would be <br /> distributed if the hospital sold. He stated that he would place the details in a <br /> memo and bring it to the Board for review at the next meeting. <br /> The Board sought and received information from County Administrator Jason <br /> Brown regarding the potential financial impacts that the sale of Indian River <br /> Memorial Hospital would have on the County and the health insurance plan. <br /> The Board asked Administrator Brown to provide a summary of the local <br /> hospital reimbursement rates and to obtain information on indigent care <br /> expenses funded by the Hospital District for review on the January 16, 2018 <br /> meeting. <br /> (Clerk's Note: Commissioner Adams entered the meeting at 9:25 a.m.) <br /> Bob Johnson, Coral Wind Subdivision, spoke about whether it was necessary to <br /> keep the Hospital Taxing District. <br /> C.
