DRUM SERVICES - <br />. <br />AND STAFFED ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: WATER LINE REPLACEMENT PROJECTS <br />IXORA PARK, GLEN ACRES, AND COORS' SUBDIVISION <br />IRC PROJECT NO. UW -92 -18 -DS <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 <br />BACKGROUND <br />On November 10, 1992, the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners approved the subject project in the amount of <br />$47,161.89 (see attached agenda item and minutes). Construction of <br />the subject project is approximately 60* percent complete. The <br />contractor, Driveways, Inc., of --Titusville, Florida, has submitted <br />a $12,310.44 change order for the construction labor to add an <br />additional 635 L.F. with appurtenances located along 18th Avenue <br />between 8th Street and 9th Street. This Change Order No. 1 has <br />been requested by the Department of Utility Services. The <br />estimated materials cost for this project will be $5,112.90 and <br />will be purchased by the Department of Utility Services using the <br />supplies and materials bid. <br />This additional project is a part of a continuing effort by this <br />department to replace galvanized water lines in Indian River <br />County. The additional funds will be from the Department's renewal <br />and replacement funds. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The original contract amount was $47,161.84. This Change Order No. <br />1 is in the amount of $12,310.44. The revised total labor contract <br />price will be in the amount of $59,472.28. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners approve Change Order No. 1. <br />Administrator Chandler explained that there were inaccuracies <br />in the as -built drawings and they added the 635 feet, which was <br />authorized by the Commission in November. <br />48 <br />
