Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Director <br />qtll""' <br />SUBJECT: Indian River County Application for <br />Federal Funding - Beach Nourishment Project <br />Within the City of Vero Beach <br />DATE: January 20, 1993 <br />DESCRIPTION AND COMDITIONS <br />As directed by the Board of County Commissioners on January <br />7, 1993, Coastal Technology, Inc. and County staff have <br />completed an application to Florida Department of <br />Environmental Regulation for the FY 95 Public Works Program <br />- Indian River County Erosion Control Project - Vero Beach <br />Segment. <br />The application seeks $6,067,474 in Federal Funds, based <br />upon the most recent cost estimates furnished by the U.S. <br />Army Corps of Engineers for the project already authorized <br />by U.S. Congress. <br />Staff and the Consultant have described the project in a <br />general manner with flexibility so that a more definitive <br />project can be recommended by a newly activated Beach <br />Preservation Committee chaired by Commissioner Adams. After <br />the final project scope is defined by the committee and <br />Board of County Commissioners, staff will seek to provide <br />more detailed information to the Corps of Engineers, and <br />Florida Department of Environmental Regulation. <br />�E <br />F E S 21993 boo 88 <br />
