ASHER <br />ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: AGREEMENT TO FURNISH ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL <br />CONSULTING SERVICES TO INDIAWRIVER COUNTY <br />BA=__GR0_UND: <br />On March 31, 1993, the Department of Utility Services received eight <br />responses to its Request for Proposal 3081, to provide utility <br />financial/rate consulting services. The selection committee <br />selected four firms for interview. <br />On May 6, 1993, the selection committee interviewed the four firms <br />and ranked the firms as follows: 1) CH2M Hill, 2) Brown and <br />Caldwell, Inc., 3) Black and Veatch, 4) Burton and Associates. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />On May 18,, 1993, the Board of County Commissioners- authorized the <br />Department to negotiate a contract with the first -ranked firm of <br />CH2M Hill, with each task under the contract to be negotiated <br />independently. <br />The Department of Utility Services has negotiated the attached <br />Agreement with CH2M Hill to provide the economic and financial <br />consulting services as required. Individual tasks will be <br />negotiated independently and presented to the Board of County <br />Commissioners on an individual basis. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends the Board <br />of County Commissioners approve the attached Agreement to Furnish <br />Economic and Financial Consulting Services to Indian River County <br />and authorize execution of the Agreement. <br />Director Pinto explained that we have already gone through the <br />selection process. This is simply the approval of the agreement. <br />The agreement can be cancelled without cause by either party upon <br />30 days' notice. <br />33 <br />
