r SEP <br />Boa 90 Facr.416 <br />Attorney Vitunac cautioned the Board members that they should <br />not discuss the specifics of Sea Oaks' application for special <br />exception at tonight's hearing. A recent Court ruling prohibits <br />County Commissioners from discussing special exception applications <br />until a properly noticed hearing on the applications is held, at <br />which time both sides have an opportunity to heard. <br />Planning Director Stan Boling introduced himself and advised <br />that the Board directed staff to make several changes to the <br />proposed residential resort LDR amendments and to conduct <br />additional research on the proposed farmworker LDR amendments, as <br />set forth in the following memo dated August 31, 1993: <br />TO: James E. Keati , AI <br />Community Developmen irector <br />FROM: Stan Boling -45, <br />Planning Director <br />DATE: August 31, 1993 <br />SUBJECT: Second Hearing: Request to Adopt Proposed Land <br />Development Regulation (LDR) Amendments <br />It is requested. that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at its special <br />meeting of September 7, 1993. <br />BACKGROUND AND CONDITIONS: <br />At its special hearing of August 23, 1993, the Board of County <br />Commissioners -reviewed and considered a draft ordinance which <br />contained a set of several LDR amendments. At that time, the Board <br />directed staff to make some changes to the proposed ordinance and <br />to research some matters relating to the farmworker housing LDRs. <br />The Board also indicated that it intended to consider final <br />adoption of the ordinance at the September 7, 1993 scheduled public <br />hearing (see attachment #1 for draft meeting motions). <br />Staff has revised the proposed ordinance based upon direction given <br />by the Board. In addition, staff has conducted more research on <br />several items related to the farmworker housing LDRs.
