As a result of this action, the Town must apply to the <br />County and State HRS/EMS office for an Advanced life Support <br />license as a separate entity. <br />An application for the certificate has been submitted by the Town. <br />Staff has reviewed the application and certifies that all <br />requirements of Chapter 304 of the County Code has been met which <br />would justify the renewal and issuance of the referenced <br />certificate. <br />The service area for this EMS ALS provider would be confined to the <br />municipal limits of the Town of Indian River Shores, except when <br />assistance is requested in a mutual aid situation. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The Indian River County Code in Section 304.07 provides for routine <br />renewal of the EMS Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity <br />on application by a current certificate holder. This can be <br />accomplished without a public hearing if the Board has no reason to <br />believe that the public health, safety, and welfare require it. <br />Staff submits that there is no reason to hold a public hearing and <br />absent that requirement, requests the Board to issue and renew the <br />certificate for the Town routinely. <br />RECOMMMMATION <br />Staff respectfully recommends that the Board of County <br />Commissioners approve and renew the EMS Certificate of Public <br />Convenience and Necessity for the Town of Indian River Shores. <br />Department of Public Safety to be effective for a period of two <br />years from the date of Board approval. <br />This provider, as with all others, will continue to be subject to <br />the authority of the state statutes, administrative rules, and as <br />provided by Chapter 304 of the Indian River Code of Laws and <br />Ordinances. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />renewal of the EMS Certificate of Public Convenience <br />and Necessity for the Town of Indian River Shores <br />Department of Public Safety for a period of two <br />years. <br />COPY OF CERTIFICATE <br />IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY COURTHOUSE PROJECT - ADDITIONAL SECURITY <br />CAMERAS <br />The Board reviewed memo from General Services Director Sonny <br />Dean dated March 30, 1994: <br />104 <br />r � � <br />
