enced and have a working knowledge of the system being installed. <br />d. Principals of the firm to have a minimum of ten (10) years' experience in <br />the estimating, supervision, management and administration of a con-_ <br />tracting firm engaged in the application of building envelope involving <br />removal of the existing building envelope systems. <br />e. Licensed by state work is occurring in for the type and dollar amount of <br />work contemplated by these Contract Documents. <br />f. Never filed bankruptcy or filed for protection from creditors. <br />g. . At any time during the construction and completion of work covered by <br />these Specifications, if the conduct of any workman of the various crafts <br />be determined unsuitable or a nuisance to the Owner or Engineer, or if <br />the workman be considered incompetent or.detrimental to the work, the <br />Contractor shall order such party removed immediately from the grounds <br />with the person not returning at any time during the course of work on <br />the project. <br />h. During the performance of any work by the Contractor or subcontractors, <br />the Contractor shall provide for the entire length of the project a full time <br />onsite superintendent/representative meeting the following requirements: <br />i. For the purpose of these Specifications the designation "superin- <br />tendent" is hereby defined as the individual present on the job <br />site at all times while work is being performed, and whose pri- <br />mary responsibility is to supervise and direct the performance of <br />the Work. <br />ii. The superintendent shall be in attendance at the project site at all <br />times during the progress of the work and his duties as superin- <br />tendent shall be limited to this project only. The superintendent <br />shall supervise and instruct workmen without engaging in the <br />work process. Should the superintendent be absent temporarily <br />from the project at any time, he shall designate a competent <br />foreman to assume duties. During the superintendent's absence <br />the foreman shall not engage in the work process but shall su- <br />pervise and instruct only. Likewise, any communications given <br />to the foreman shall be as binding as if given to the Contractor. <br />iii. It shall be the superintendent's responsibility to communicate all <br />matters pertaining to the Work with the Owner and/or Engineer. <br />In case of emergency or safety, superintendent shall communi- <br />cate directly with the Owner and/or Engineer. No decisions re- <br />garding changes in the Work will be made without the Owner's <br />knowledge. <br />iv. Decision making authority and ability. <br />V. Able to demonstrate knowledge of work being installed. <br />vi. Fluent in the English language (i.e. reading, writing and speak- <br />ing). <br />vii. In possession of mobile telephone at all times. <br />viii. Employed by the Contractor at least six months prior to project <br />commencement. <br />ix. Owner and Engineer/Engineer approval. <br />X. No later than ten days prior to the pre -construction conference, <br />Contractor shall provide the Owner, in writing, the names of the <br />proposed project manager, job superintendent, and foreman for <br />approval. If he so determines, the Owner, without giving cause, <br />may request an additional name, or names, be submitted for ap- . <br />proval.
