Comprehensive Plan Sanitary Sewer Sub -Element <br />OBJECTIVE 2 Regional System Expansion/Correction of Deficiencies <br />By 2025 241-3, at least 6038% of all existing residential�units in the county's service area will be <br />connected to the county's a -regional sanitary sewer system. This will be an increase from 52.7% <br />44% in 20172006. <br />POLICY 2.1: The county shall continue to offer the utility assessment program to areas <br />with septic serviee-systems within the County Utilities Department service area. <br />POLICY 2.2: The county shall continue to offer up to 10 year financing for all utility <br />assessments. <br />POLICY 2.3: The county shall given priority for the provision of public sanitary sewer <br />services to the subdivisions on the list of subdivisions as identified in Table 3.A.3 <br />designated as requiring sanitary sewer service due to public health threats by DOH. . <br />POLICY 2.4: The county shall provide public sanitary sewer service to areas where the <br />lack of such service is determined to be a public health threat and shall initiate sewer <br />projects where feasible to serve subdivisions served by septic systems and identified in <br />Table 3.A.3.1 as posing a. disproportionately high potential negative impact on Indian <br />River Lagoon water quality. The county shall recover costs through those connecting to <br />the system and directly benefitting from the improvement. <br />POLICY 2.5: Consistent with its interlocal agreements with the City of Sebastian and the <br />Town of Orchid, the county shall provide sanitary sewer services to those municipalities. <br />POLICY 2.6: By 2018,.the count,, shall perform a financialanalysis for septic to sewer <br />conversion projects.
