Completely remove and/or vacuum debris from deck surface and ribs to allow for <br /> inspection of existing deck,and to fasten existing and new decking. <br /> B. Remove and properly dispose of all damaged decking (Corrosion Degree Level 5) and <br /> back-out/remove deck fasteners in the repair area. <br /> C. Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to prevent debris from entering building <br /> space,and coordinate operations with Engineer and Owner. <br /> D. Contractor shall provide temporary protection of building interior and contents to prevent <br /> damage. <br /> 3.03 STEEL DECK REMEDIATION <br /> A. Corrosion Degree 1: <br /> 1. Remove all loose dirt, rust, moisture, grease or other contaminants from the <br /> surface with a power wire brush. <br /> 2. Vacuum the roof deck surface clean. <br /> 3. Properly mix deck repair coating according to manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> 4. Do not mix more material than can be used in the materials expected pot life. <br /> 5. Material should be from 50°F to 90° F for optimum application. <br /> 6. Brush or roller apply deck repair coating as recommended by manufacturer. <br /> 7. Allow coating to dry a minimum of 30 minutes. Coating shall be dry to touch <br /> before roof insulation is installed. <br /> B. Corrosion Degree 2: <br /> 1. Remove all loose dirt, rust, moisture, grease or other contaminants from the <br /> surface with a power wire brush. <br /> 2. Vacuum the roof deck surface clean. <br /> 3. Mechanically attach 18 ga deck repair plate to deck ribs with deck to side lap <br /> fasteners 8"on center maximum or a minimum of 2 screws per side. <br /> 4. Properly mix deck repair coating according to manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> 5. Do not mix more material than can be used in the materials expected pot life. <br /> 6.
