In contact with roofing,flashing, or waterproofing. <br /> b. In contact with masonry or concrete. <br /> c. Within 18 inches(450 mm)of grade. <br /> d. Exposed to weather. <br /> e. Other locations indicated. <br /> 2.02 FASTENERS <br /> A. General: <br /> 1. All fasteners shall be stainless steel or as approved by Engineer. <br /> 2. Fasteners securing pressure treated lumber shall be manufactured for corrosion <br /> resistance and exposures associated with pressure treated wood applications. <br /> 3. Nails shall not be used at roof edges to fasten rough carpentry, lumber, plywood, <br /> etc. Screws, anchors, and/or machine bolts shall be used to secure rough <br /> carpentry at roof perimeter edges. <br /> 4. Masonry screws,spikes,and drive-pins shall not be used to fasten edge/perimeter <br /> nailers to concrete decks. Minimum 'h" diameter anchors or bolts shall be used <br /> to secure roof edge nailers to concrete substrates. <br /> B. Wood to steel deck and light gage steel framing(16-ga.or less): <br /> 1. Shall be#14-13 DPI, pancake or panhead, corrosion resistant,ASTM A153, FM <br /> Approved, self-drilling and self-tapping screw, length to provide minimum 3 <br /> pitches of thread through metal thicknesses. Acceptable manufacturers include: <br /> a. ITW Buildex Teks <br /> b. Concealor® <br /> c. Blazer <br /> d. SFS Intec <br /> e. Engineers accepted equivalent. <br /> C. Wood to wood: <br /> 1. Screws: No. 10 or greater, stainless steel wood screws with flat head, or <br /> insulation screws. Length to embed into base substrate a minimum of 1-1/2". <br /> 2. Nails: 8, 10 or 16 penny, stainless steel, ring shank nails. Length to embed into <br /> base substrate a minimum 1-1/2". Acceptable manufacturers include: <br /> a. Maze Nails <br /> b. Anchor Staple and Nail <br /> c. Swan Secure Products <br /> d. Manasquan Premium Fasteners <br /> e. Engineers accepted equivalent. <br /> D. Wood to brick,concrete block,other masonry units,and solid concrete substrates: <br /> 1.
