Number of Service Units provided to clients (a Service <br />Unit is 15 minutes of service) 35,791 37,420 39,206 39,500 37,772 <br />As noted earlier, the MHA also operates three Drop-in Centers in three counties: Indian River, <br />Martin and Okeechobee counties. The Drop -In Centers are peer run. They were specifically <br />designed to provide a safe haven for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. There is no <br />other program in Indian River County that provides services similar to the Vero Drop -In Center. <br />These centers provide support, education, socialization, and constructive activities that help its <br />members remain productive members of our community. The Drop -In Centers provide supported <br />employment for 9 chronically mentally ill adults. Briefly list any certifications andlor accreditations obtained by your agency,_ <br />The MHA is an affiliate of Mental Health America which is a national agency dedicated to promoting <br />mental health, preventing mental and substance use conditions, and achieving victory over mental <br />illnesses and addictions through advocacy, education, research and service. Participation in a re- <br />affiliation process is required at least once every three years. The reaffiliation with Mental Health <br />America was approved for another three years in 2017. <br />144 <br />
