and perform temporary repairs if necessary. Inspections shall be made <br />daily during extended periods of inclement weather. Upon arrival at the <br />facility, Superintendent shall immediately inform the Owner of his pres- <br />ence and purpose. <br />C. If Contractor does not inspect the facility by 9:00 AM on days of inclement <br />weather and there is one or more leaks attributable to the Work, at 9:15 <br />AM the Owner shall exercise his right to contact an outside contractor to <br />perform temporary repairs as necessary to prevent damage to the building, <br />its contents and to minimize disruption. The Contractor shall reimburse <br />the outside contractor an equitable amount as determined solely by the <br />outside contractor. If the Contractor arrives at the project site after the <br />outside contractor has been contacted, but before temporary repairs are <br />made, the outside contractor shall be reimbursed the fixed amount of <br />$500.00, each occasion, for mobilization and/or travel expenses. <br />d. Should inclement weather occur after normal business hours Friday, Sat- <br />urday, and Sunday or holidays, Contractor shall make arrangements with <br />the Owner to provide access to the building to inspect for leaks. The <br />Owner shall be compensated for providing personnel for the service on an <br />hourly rate basis as determined solely by the Owner. <br />D. Manufacturer's Field Services: During construction and until substantial completion, man- <br />ufacturer's representative shall perform quality assurance site visits every ten working days <br />to ensure materials are being properly installed and as required to obtain the specified war- <br />ranty. <br />1. The first site visit shall be performed within the first three (3) days of operations. <br />2. Coordinate all site visits with Engineer. Submit reports of findings within one <br />week of inspection. Payment applications will be rejected until applicable reports <br />are received. <br />3. Inspections to be performed by an employee of the selected manufacturer that is <br />assigned full time to their technical services department. Sales personnel will not <br />be acceptable for this function and may result in rejection of the work installed that <br />does not fulfill this requirement. <br />4. Manufacturer's final inspections shall be performed only with REI personnel in <br />attendance. A minimum of seven days' written notice is required. Any manufac- <br />turer's final inspection conducted without REI personnel in attendance will be re- <br />peated at no additional cost to the Owner. <br />5. Any violation of this requirement will result in the removal of that manufacturer <br />for a period of not less than one year from the Engineer's accepted materials list. <br />E. Retesting/Reinspecting: Regardless of whether original tests or inspections were Contrac- <br />tor's responsibility, provide quality -control services, including retesting and reinspecting, <br />for construction that revised or replaced Work that failed to comply with requirements <br />established by the Contract Documents. <br />F. Associated Services: Cooperate with agencies performing required tests, inspections, and <br />similar quality -control services, and provide reasonable auxiliary services as requested. <br />Notify agency sufficiently in advance of operations to permit assignment of personnel. <br />Provide the following: <br />1. Access to the Work. <br />2. Incidental labor and facilities necessary to facilitate tests and inspections. <br />3. Adequate quantities of representative samples of materials that require testing and <br />inspecting.
