WHEREAS, it is in the beat interest of the citizens and businesses of <br />Indian River County that Palm Beach International Airport continue to provide <br />and maintain convenient and accessible commercial air transportation services <br />in the future; and <br />WHEREAS, Interstate 95 is the primary north/south expressway linking <br />Indian River County to Palm Beach International Airport and all other coastal <br />urban areas in Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Counties; and <br />WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation has conducted lengthy <br />and comprehensive studies -and determined that improvements to Interstate 95 <br />and connecting, roads, including a direct connector to Palm Beach Inter- <br />national Airport, Palm Beach County, Florida, are necessary to accommodate in <br />the most cost-effective manner existing and future vehicle traffic demand <br />along the Interstate 95 corridor; and _ <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board supports the Palm Beach County <br />long-range transportation plan improvements to Interstate 95 with a direct <br />connector between Interstate 95 and the Palm Beach International Airport, <br />known as "Build Alternative 3A-2." <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Eggert , and <br />the motion was seconded by Commissioner Adams , and, upon being put to a <br />vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Kenneth R.
