ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously approved <br />the final payment and release of retainage in the <br />amount of $27,712.35 to Martin Paving Company, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REQUEST FOR <br />TRANSFER OF .TURISDICTION OF CERTAIN ROADWAYS WITHIN <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of December 21, 1994: <br />TO: - James E. Chandler, <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E. - <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Florida Department of Transportation Request for Transfer of <br />Jurisdiction of Certain Roadways within Indian River County <br />DATE: December 21, 1994 FILE: JURISTRA.AGN <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The Florida Department of Transportation is requestiing that certain roadways within Indian <br />River County be transferred between the County and the State. The attached resolution states <br />that the functional classification and jurisdiction of the roads, Indian River Boulevard between <br />20th Street and 21st Street be transferred to the State of Florida and 6th Avenue between 20th <br />Place and 21st Street be transferred from the State of Florida to Indian River County on April <br />1, 1995. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff requests that the Board of County Commissioners approve the resolution. Staff also <br />requests that the Chairman execute the attached resolution. No funding is required at this time. <br />Commissioner Eggert questioned whether the transfer would <br />create future jurisdictional problems in terms of maintenance or <br />lighting. <br />Director of Public Works James Davis advised that this is a <br />historical cooperation between the County and the State and that a <br />further transfer will be necessary when the new bridge opens. <br />JANUARY 3, 1995 <br />25 BOOK FA�E <br />
