Latest edition of the Manufacturer’s current material specifications and installation <br />instructions. <br />1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Meticulous attention to the detail of installation and workmanship shall be provided to <br />ensure the assemblage of products in the highest grade of excellence by skilled craftsmen <br />of the trade. <br /> PRODUCTS <br />2.1 MATERIALS <br />A. Roof Deck: FM Approved or UL listed 22 gauge minimum; galvanized steel profile to <br />conform to existing deck profile at end and side laps. <br />B. Roof Deck Fasteners: <br />1. Deck-to-structural steel: Fasteners shall be FM Approved, self-drilling deck <br />fasteners of length and type as required by fastener manufacturer for thickness of <br />structural steel. Acceptable manufacturers include: <br />a. ITW Buildex Corp. 12-24 Tek 5 <br />b. SFS Intec Impax 12-24 SD5 <br />c. Blazer 1/4-20 DP5 <br />2. Deck-to-deck side lap fasteners: Fasteners shall be FM Approved self-drilling deck <br />side lap fasteners of length and type as required by fastener manufacturer for <br />thickness of steel deck. Acceptable manufacturers include: <br />a. ITW Buildex Corp. 10-16 Tek 3 <br />b. SFS Intec #10-16 SD3 <br />c. Blazer #10-16 DP3 <br />C. Deck Repair Coating: Shall be high solids, low VOC, self-priming epoxy coating for use on <br />steel structures such as: <br />1. Amerlock 400 as manufactured by Ameron International <br />2. Bar-Rust 231 as manufactured by Devoe <br />3. High Build Epoxy Mastic as manufactured by Duron <br />4. P45 Epoxy Mastic Coating as manufactured by Benjamin Moore & Co. <br />D. Deck Repair Plates: Shall be galvanized steel plates of thickness indicated. Plates shall <br />be sized to extend a min. 8” beyond the through hole in existing decking on all sides with <br />plate edges resting completely on a rib. <br /> EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A. Contractor shall inspect roof deck in work areas noted on roof plan. Notify engineer of <br />additional damaged decking, or damaged structural elements. <br />B. Before removing decking, cutting decking or fastening decking, the Contractor shall inspect <br />interior conditions under the deck to prevent cutting or damaging the joists, electrical <br />conduit, sprinkler piping, fixtures and utilities. The Contractor shall ensure conditions are <br />satisfactory before proceeding with the work, and continuously monitor interior and exterior <br />work conditions during demolition and construction operations.
