13. Operator Selection, Qualification &Training. <br /> Senior Resource Association management is responsible for ensuring that the following <br /> minimum standards are met when hiring new drivers. <br /> • Must possess a valid Florida driving license of appropriate class. <br /> • Criminal background check Level 2,with pre-employment drug screen and driving records <br /> check including, but not limited to,the following items: <br /> o Driving records <br /> o Must be 18 years of age <br /> • Complete employment application. <br /> • Valid DOT Physical <br /> • Signed acknowledgement of receipt and agreement to comply with drug-free workplace <br /> policy. <br /> • Successful completion of required orientation, training and testing to demonstrate and <br /> ensure adequate skills and capabilities to safely operate each type of bus or bus <br /> combination before driving on a street or highway unsupervised. <br /> • Signed acknowledgment of receipt and compliance with the following written operational <br /> and safety procedures before driving on a street or highway unsupervised. <br /> o Communication and handling of unsafe conditions, security threats, and <br /> emergencies. <br /> o Familiarization and operation of safety and emergency equipment, wheelchair lift <br /> equipment, and restraining devices. <br /> o Application and compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, rules and <br /> regulations. <br /> • Drivers are required to write and submit a daily bus inspection report pursuant to Rule 14- <br /> 90.006, F.A.C. <br /> Noncompliance with any regulatory or agency specific requirement may result in an employee <br /> administrative action up to and including suspension or termination of employment. It is the <br /> policy of Senior Resource Association to screen applicants to eliminate those that pose a safety <br /> or security threat to the agency or who would not be capable of carrying out agency safety and <br /> security policies. <br /> Initial Driver Training and Testing <br /> A new-hire check-off list must be completed to ensure the employee has received all required <br /> 14-90 training and information before being authorized for over-the-road service. <br /> 1. Bus transit system safety and operational policies and procedures. <br /> 2. Operational bus and equipment inspections. <br /> 3. Bus equipment familiarization. <br /> 120 <br />
