PLANT
UNDERGROUND FUEL STORAGE TANK REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
BACKGROUND
This is a budgeted renewal and replacement project for the- year
1995. Both state and federal regulations are now requiring
municipalities to retrofit all underground fuel storage tanks with
above ground facilities. The regulations on tank removal are now
more stringent than ever and require that the contractor be licensed
to perform the required tank removal. As a result of this, we must
prepare contract specifications and bid documents for this project.
The engineering associated with this work will be accomplished
in-house.
ANALYSIS
This project has been budgeted at a cost of $40,000.00, and the
department feels confident that this will not be exceeded. The
project includes tank removal and the above ground ., tank
installation. Also, as part of this project, we will be bringing
both a level indicator signal and a containment breach signal back
into the plant's computer system for monitoring and alarm status.
This will require connection to the plant's main control computer.
W3 propose to have the connection and programming service performed
by our control maintenance group, HTS, Inc., An an amount not to
JUM 139 1995 104 b®®K 1 95 FAct,444
