O ' Haire advised that there are cattle on the Beuttell property <br />and a citrus grove on the Clontz property . He was unsure of the state of the other property . <br />B . J. McClure, 395 Nieuport Drive , Vero Beach 32968 , lives near the Beuttell <br />property .He thought the issue in this matter is truth versus fiction and felt there was a lot <br />of fiction in the air . After the last hearing, he thought all the properties were in trouble <br />because they could no longer be used for agricultural purposes .Having read all the staff <br />reports and backup materials , he realized there were a lot of statements which might be true <br />in a very general sense , but were very misleading . If any relief is needed, it would the <br />Clontz property and not Beuttell ' s . He refuted several recent comments and stated that the <br />third property has some of the finest looking citrus groves in the county with a nice packing <br />plant . He predicted that if the Commission approves the amendments , the pressure point <br />will just move to the south and the domino effect will take place . He reminded the <br />Commissioners of some of the truths written in the staff report of June 30 , 2000 . He noted <br />staff s lack of recommendation today and asked that the Board reject this amendment . <br />Ken Hendrix , 6220 1 " Street, SW , Vero Beach 32968 ,wished he could convince <br />the Commissioners to vote against this . He believed the Board felt they had caused the <br />problem Mr . Clontz is now experiencing . Mr . Hendrix and others bought property and live <br />in the area relying on the Comprehensive Plan to prohibit high density development .He <br />now knows the Comprehensive Plan map does not mean too much , but asked why it was <br />done if it was not going to have any meaning . He felt that Mr . O ' Haire has done a <br />marvelous job for Mr . Clontz and figured others can hire a "bull dog " to do the same .He <br />felt this deviation from the Comprehensive Plan would be a big mistake which will cause <br />neighbors to be against neighbors which he hated to see . <br />John Schumann , 1320 Old Dubloon Drive , Vero Beach 32963 , expressed concerns <br />of growth in conflict with the Aerodrome ' s buffer .He is building a home there and also <br />October 16 , 2001 <br />101 <br />4 7 0
