Eggert, County Commissioner U <br />Chairman, Transportation Disadvantaged Local <br />Coordinating Board <br />DATE: September 11, 1995 <br />SUBJECT: Ordinance of Indian River County, Florida, Establishing <br />Regulations Governing Wheelchair Services <br />After receiving numerous complaints involving wheelchair and <br />ambulance transportation, especially regarding Medicaid clients, <br />the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board (TDLCB) <br />discussed- solutions at its meeting of July 20, 1995. It was <br />determined that since Indian River County did not get any "trip" <br />credits for companies that come from Stuart, Orlando or Fort <br />Pierce when transports are made within the County, and since it <br />is improper for an ambulance to transport a -patient in a <br />wheelchair or walking that doesn't need special medical care, an <br />ordinance should be enacted. <br />36 - <br />September 19, 1995 <br />
