the opinion of the Building Official, drawings and specifications are <br />needed to show definitely the nature and character of the work for <br />which the application is made, the applicant shall furnish such draw- <br />ings and specifications. These drawings and specifications shall be <br />drawn to scale and submitted in duplicate. If approved, one set shall <br />be returned to the applicant inarked approved, and one set shall be <br />retained and filed as a permanent record In the office of the Building <br />Official. The applicant's approved set shall remain at all times on <br />the job. Such information or drawings and specifications shall be <br />specific, and this code shall not be cited as a whole or in part, nor <br />shall the term "legal" or its equivalent be used as a substitute for <br />specific Information. <br />Section 18. EXAMINATION Oil DRAWINGS. The Building <br />Official shall cxai,olne or cause to be examined each application for a <br />permit and the drawings and specifications which may be filed there- <br />with, and shall ascertain by such examination whether the electrical <br />Installation indicated and described Is In accordance with the require - <br />menu; of this code and all other pertinent laws or ordinances. <br />Section 19. AGI'ION ON APPLICATION. <br />(1) If the Building Official is satisfied that the work described <br />in an application for permit and the drawings and specifications which <br />maybe filed therewith conform to the requirements of this code, and <br />other pertinent laws in(] ordinances, he shall issue a permit therefor <br />to the applicant. <br />(2) If the application for permit and the drawings and specifi- <br />cations which may be filed therewith describe work which does not <br />conform to the requirements of this code or other pertinent laws or <br />ordinances, the Building Official shall not issue a permit, but shall <br />return the drawings to the applicant with his refusal to issue such a <br />permit.
