L <br />ProcCamation <br />DESIGNATING THE WEEK OF JULY 165 2022 THROUGH JULY 24, <br />2022, AS TREASURE COAST WATERWAY CLEANUP WEEK <br />-Whereas, on Saturday, July 23, 2022, the Marine Industries Association of the Treasure Coast <br />in conjunction with the Florida Inland Navigation District will conduct the 15th Annual Treasure Coast <br />Waterway Cleanup; and <br />-Whereas, this event will attract approximately 1,000 volunteers who will participate in cleaning <br />up the waterways of Indian River, Martin and St. Lucie Counties; and <br />`-Whereas, thirty-one designated sites throughout the three counties will serve as registration <br />and disposal sites for the volunteers to work out of; and <br />'-Whereas, numerous waterfront homeowners' associations have been recruited to clean up their <br />own waterfronts; and <br />-Whereas, since the beginning, over 95.5 tons of trash has been collected from approximately <br />125 miles of waterways with an expectation of a significantly larger amount to be collected this year <br />with an increased volunteer effort. <br />Wow, Therefore, be it Proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, ,T&rida, that the week of July 16, 2022, through July 24, 2022, be <br />designated as TREASURE COAST WATERWAY CLEANUP WEEK in Indian River County, and all <br />citizens are encouraged to use this occasion to foster appreciation for the Treasure Coast Waterways <br />and assist in the cleanup efforts. <br />Adopted this 12th day of July, 2022.
