.J
vicinity of U.S.#1/Riverside Avenue to pumping station N2.
In order to establish estimated sewage flows for the system
conception design, the area of each subshed was determined in
acres and a value of 1000 gallons per day per acre (GPDPA)
was used. The areas considered are gross which include
roads, environmental lands, etc, and it is estimated that a
density of (3) housing units per acre or (6) mobile home
units per acre is fair. At 300 GPD per housing unit and/or
150 GPD per mobile home unit, the resultant design sewage
flow per acre would be 900 GPD. In the case of commercial
use, it is estimated that 25% of the site will be covered by
building and a sewage flow value of 0.10 GPD per square foot
will result in a design sewage flow of 1089 GPD per acre.
Based on these examples and assumptions, it is our
professional opinion that the design value of 1000 GPD per
acre is reasonable and acccuate for the purposes of this
report.
The seven (7) exhibits show the proposed arterial "core"
sewage conveyance system which primarily consists of pumping
stations and force mains. The system sizing and layout is
based on the results of a computer analysis to balance
various force main sizes with sewage flows, head conditions
and pump motor horse powers.
