Thompson, P.EC�`/' <br />Capital Projects Manager <br />SUBJECT: 43rd Avenue Roadway and Drainage Improvements <br />Between 26th Street and 8th Street <br />Amendment No. 1 <br />DATE: May 20, 1996 <br />Carter Associates, Inc. is under contract with Indian River County to provide Professional <br />Civil Engineering Services for improvements to 43rd Avenue from 26th Street to 8th Street. <br />The attached Amendment No. 1 provides for a not -to -exceed allovuance for geotechnical <br />services. Compensation will be on a unit price basis for the actual amount of testing <br />performed and technical time extended up to a total not -to -exceed budget of $20,000. <br />Coordination of geotechnical services was included in the original contract. The $20;000 <br />allowance added to the current contract amount of $199,000, will result in a new contract <br />amount of $219,000. <br />Staff recommends that the Board authorize the Chairman to sign the attached Amendment <br />No. 1. <br />Funding is from Account 109-214541-067.y'1. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />Amendment No. 1 with Carter Associates, Inc. in an <br />amount not to exceed $20,000, as set out in staff's <br />recommendation. <br />AMENDMENT NO. 1 IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />34 <br />MAY 289 1996 BOOK 98 Pack 205 <br />
