Rolling: Immediately after completion of the seeding, <br />the entire grassed or mulched area shall be rolled <br />' thoroughly with the equipment specified. At least two <br />trips over the entire area will be required. <br />F. Watering: Newly seeded areas are not to be watered to <br />force the seed germination, but only to sustain grass <br />growth. Water will only be used on vegetated areas when <br />permitted by the Engineer. <br />G. operations on Steep Slopes; On steep slopes when <br />mulching is called for, the mulch material may be <br />anchored down in lieu of beingcut <br />by the <br />eather of the <br />use <br />of a machine. Anchoring may b <br />following methods: <br />1. Such maintenance. <br />shall include the filling, leveling, and repairing of <br />any washed or eroded areas, as may be necessary. The <br />Engineer, at any time, may require replanting of any <br />areas in which the establishment of the grass stand does <br />not appear to be developing satisfactorily. If a <br />planted area must by replanted due to the Contractor's <br />negligence, carelessness, or failure to provide routine <br />maintenance of such area, such replacement shall be at <br />the Contractor's expense. If replanting is necessary <br />due to factors determined to be beyond the control of <br />the Contractor, payment for replacement will be made <br />under the appropriate contract pay items. <br />END OF SEC TTON <br />02485--5 <br />
