40 <br />40 <br />1.03 <br />GUARANTEE <br />I' <br />All restored areas within the public right-of-way shall <br />i <br />be guaranteed for one year. In the event of settlement <br />of paved areas more than one-quarter inch below the <br />s <br />undisturbed adjacent permanent pavement, the contractor <br />�. <br />shall make the necessary repairs to restore the pavement <br />level within ten calendar days after notification by the <br />Owner. The cost of such repairs shall be paid by the <br />Contractor. <br />PART 2 - <br />PRODUCTS <br />2.01 <br />BASEROCK <br />Limerock, shellrock, and local rock shall conform to DOT <br />specifications, Section 911, <br />2.02 <br />ASPHALTIC CONCRETE <br />A. Prime and Tack Coats: Prime and tack coats shall <br />be applied to the prepared baserock. prime coat <br />shall be cutback asphalt, Grade RC -70, MC -30, or <br />MC -70, complying with DOT Specifications, Articles <br />300--1 through 300-7, applied at the average rate of <br />o.15 gallon per square yard. <br />Tack coat shall be emulsified asphalt, Grade RS -2, <br />complying with DOT specifications, Articles 300-1 <br />through 300-7 respectively, applied at the average <br />rate of o.10 gallons per square yard. The <br />bituminous quantities are considered as average and <br />are subject to some variation at the discretion of <br />the Engineer and at no additional cost. <br />B. Plant- Mix Wearing Surface: A plant mix wearing <br />surface course shall be constructed on the prepared <br />limerock base. Materials and construction shall <br />conform with the requirements of DOT Standard <br />Specifications for Type S-1 Asphaltic concrete, <br />Section 331, Articles 331-1 'through 331-4. The <br />finished pavement replacement shall be smooth and. <br />even with, or slightly above, the existing abutting <br />pavement, but shall not have any appreciable bump <br />due to this slight elevation. <br />C. Rock, Gravel, or Marl Replacement: Roads, stracts, <br />or driveways constructed of rock, gravel, or marl <br />shall be restored to a condition equal to or butter <br />than prior to construction using the same material <br />unless directed otherwise. <br />02576-4 <br />
