C <br />2. 0 DESCRIPTIVE SUMMARY OF THE WORK: The project consists <br />of the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and services <br />as required for the construction of a ballfield, including fencingirrigation, field lighting system, basketball court lighting, <br />entrance road lighting and other miscellaneous and incidental <br />appurtenances (as shown on the Drawings and described in these <br />specifications) at West Wabasso Park, Indian River County, Florida. <br />3.0 CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: See Section 3 of GeneralF <br />Conditions. <br />4.0 STRUCTURAL WORK: Do not cut -and -patch structural work <br />t in a manner resulting in a reduction of load -carrying capacity orload/deflection ratio. Submit proposal and request and obtain the <br />County Engineer's approval before proceeding with cut -and -patch of <br />structural work. <br />5. 0 SUPPLEMENTAL PROVISIONS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS: Where <br />any article of "General Conditions: is supplemental hereby, the <br />provisions of such article shall remain in effect. All <br />supplemental provisions shall be considered as added thereto. <br />6. 0 For the convenience of reference, these Specifications are <br />separated into sections. Such separations shall not operate to <br />make the County Engineer an arbiter to establish subcontract limits <br />between Contractor and Subcontractors. <br />7.0 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SIGN: The Contractor will causettobeerectedattheprojectsiteasignidentifyingtheprojectasLshownonthedrawings. The project sign shall be eight (9) feet byfour(4) feet, placed in a prominent location as directed by the <br />Engineer and maintained in good condition until the completion of <br />the project. The sign shall be made of J inch exterior plywood <br />with edges and supported by posts braced as required to resist <br />local wind loading. The sign shall be given one prime coat and two <br />coats of semi -gloss exterior white paint. Lettering shall be as <br />directed by the Engineer, and shall include the name of the <br />project, the Owner, the Contractor, the Architect, and the Public <br />Works Director. No other signs or advertisements will be allowed <br />to be displayed without the approval of the Engineer. Cost shall <br />be included in Item 1 under Miscellaneous items. <br />t- 9.0 FIRE SAFETY <br />9.1 No open fires will be permitted at the project site. <br />r <br />9.2 No welding, flame cutting or other operations involving the <br />use of flame arcs or sparking devices will be allowed without <br />t. adequate protection.
