Work Included: <br />1. Excavation and disposal of excess material. <br />2. Filling and compaction. <br />3. Grading and fine grading. <br />i <br />4. Incidental earthwork. <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />r <br />A. Requirements of Regulatory Agencies: <br />1. Comply with State and Local laws and codes in <br />disposal of trees, shrubs and other material. <br />B. Testing Agency: <br />1. The Owner has retained a soils engineer who will <br />monitor construction of fills and embankments <br />and initial tests. All retests required <br />F. resultinq from failure of the initial tests will <br />be paid for by the Contractor. <br />f <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />f <br />j A. Excavated Material: On-site, or imported as <br />necessary, material meeting the following.: <br />1. Homogeneous, compactable, generally granular <br />I soil free of organics, and muck. <br />2. Use of on --site material must be approved by the <br />soils engineer. <br />PART 3 - i EXECUTION <br />3.01 PREPARATION <br />f <br />k. A. After the work of clearing and grubbing, accurately <br />perfcrm all construction layout. <br />B. Before excavation: <br />1. Verify layout, horizontal and vertical, and con- <br />formance of layout with Contract Drawings. <br />2. Verify Limits of Construction. <br />3. Accurately survey and record the location of <br />property monuments bench marks, USGS Monuments, <br />ROW markers which may be moved by the Con- <br />tractor's operations. Use licensed land <br />surveyor only. All property monuments, ASGS <br />Monuments and ROW markers moved, shall be <br />replaced by a licenses land surveyor. <br />L: <br />e <br />02200-1
