40 <br />40 <br />i <br />b) Restroom building footprints developed by Edlund & Dritenbas Architects <br />(based on proto-type designs provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife <br />Service) will be utilised in the planning process. <br />c) The site design for the proposed boardwalks, observation tower, and <br />kiosks will be indicated, including nature trails, driveways, parking areas, <br />and vegetated areas <br />d) Alternative pavement sections shall be analyzed for use on the U.S. Fish <br />and Wildlife Service roads, and projected costs presented in a summary <br />report discussing considerations for each alternative. Surface treatment <br />selected shall be coordinated so that similar surfaces will be used for both <br />County and USFWS roads/driveways. <br />e) Coordinate one Design Team workshop session to review the master plan <br />prior to its submittal to the County staff. <br />f) Review the Preliminary Master flan with County staff. <br />g) Revise the Preliminary Master Plan, incorporating review comments <br />received from County Staff. <br />h) Prepare an illustrative color rendering of the approved Master Plans for <br />presentation purposes. The rendering shall be mounted on "gator board". <br />2) Dr. David Cox will assist with the planning and design of interpretive trails <br />and educational signage on the Cairns site. This work will be governed by <br />sensitivity to the natural and cultural resources of each site. <br />C. Task 3 — Pre -Application Meetings <br />1) Submit a request to the St. John's River Water Management District <br />(SJRWMD), for pre -application meeting to present the Master Plan and to <br />obtain staff input as to: <br />a) the desirability of the scheme <br />b) the feasibility of obtaining hermits for construction <br />c) issues and staff concerns regarding the scheme <br />d) standards and requirements necessary to obtain permits <br />2) Prepare a conference report summarizing the results of the pre -application <br />meetings. <br />D. Task 4 — Preliminary Design <br />1) Based on the approved Master Plan, prepare preliminary design drawings at an <br />appropriate scale, using site survey as a base map. <br />a) Geotechnical Coordination <br />♦ Coordinate the services of County's geotechnical consultant (who will <br />be working directly for the County under separate Agreement) to <br />provide the following: <br />• Soil borings as required to perform stortnwater drainage planning, <br />to design paving improvements, and to site the proposed structures. <br />• Prepare a geotechnical report to include rec commendations for site <br />preparation procedures, pavement section design, and foundation. <br />design parameters for the proposed structures. General comments <br />concerning; anticipated performance or tate proposed stormwater <br />management system, and parking; improvements shall also be <br />included. <br />• Perform Geld density testing during; the construction phase of the <br />project. <br />4 The wetland restoration project (hy Lewis Environmental Services, <br />Inc.) will result in excess sand/shell material that can be used to <br />elevate roadways, parking areas, etc. Coordinate with County's <br />Auachimmnt - 7 <br />
