<br />cost of the pipe.
<br />C. Fillings: Measurement of cast iron and duclllc iron fillings shall be on the basis of
<br />weight. The weights used to detcrn1ine the quantity installed shall be the weights of
<br />the appropnatc fillings as listed in the supplier's invoice or catalog. When
<br />mechanical joint fillings arc required, the weight of the gland bolts and gaskets shall
<br />not be added to the listed weight of the litt111gs. Where flanged fittings arc furnished,
<br />the weight of the bolts and gaskets shall not be included.
<br />D. Gate Valves and Tapping Valves: Measurement shall be on the basis of fumishing
<br />and installing each type and size of valve (and tapping sleeve, if app licable} required,
<br />inelud111g the va lve box, cover, and other associated items.
<br />E. Fire Hydrant Assembly: Measurement of lire hydrant assembly shall be for the
<br />actual number constructed in accordance with lhe Plans and Specifications, or as
<br />directed by the Engineer, al th;: unit price bid for the item "Fire Hydrant Assembly,"
<br />scheduled in the Form of Proposal. The unit price for "Fire I Iydrant Assembly" shall
<br />include cu11111g bituminous paving, removal of paving courses and curb if required,
<br />excavation, furnishing and insta ll ation of 10' (6") O.1.P. water main, dry-barrel
<br />traffic hydrant, concrete foundations for hydrant, titting, one (I) 6" diameter gate
<br />valve, concrete thrust block (reaction backing) for lire hydrant, backfill, blue
<br />re0cctive markers, all materials, equipment, labor and all else necessary therefore
<br />and incidental thereto.
<br />F. Water Service: Measurement of water service lateral shall include furnishing and
<br />construction of piping and appurtenances to carry and distribute water from the water
<br />main 10 the edge of the Right-Of-Way for future service lo individual property
<br />owners. 1l1e work shall include, but shall not be limited to, culling of existing
<br />pavement where required, jack and bore of existing pavement where required,
<br />excavation, installation (of pipe, meter boxes, connections and associated
<br />ap1>urtcnanccs), backfilling, testing, disinfection, and all re~toration in kind. The
<br />services shall be of a type and size specified, and shall be constructed in accordance
<br />with these Plans and Specification, or as directed by the Engineer.
<br />G. IIDPE Horizontal O1rec11onal Bore: Measurement of HOPE horizontal d1rcc11011al
<br />bore shall include all material (including IIOPE pipe), equipment, supplies, fuel,
<br />labor, shccllng and bracing, Jacking and boring pits (if required), excava11on,
<br />dcwatenng, backfilling, compaction, mcchamcal littmgs, restoration, fumishing and
<br />111s1alhng lll)PE pipe. Wedge type sph: ,1a1'llcss steel in,crts shall he used for
<br />mechanical linings on 4 .. and 6 .. dmmetc1 pipe. A fuse welded mcchonical JOllll
<br />adapter kit shall be used for mcchamcal fi111ngs on 12" dmmctcr pi1>e. Payments
<br />shall be based on the lengths spec11ied III the Schedule of Bid Items. Dirc cllonal bore
