0 <br />11 <br />4M <br />4D <br />it is the policy of the District that unlawful possession, use, being under the influence, <br />consumption, sale, purchase, distribution, dispensation, or manufacture by any <br />employee of alcohol or any illegal drugs or illegally obtained drugs in the workplace, <br />on District premises, or within its facilities, in the conduct of District -related work off <br />District premises, or when operating District vehicles on or off duty is strictly <br />prohibited and will be grounds for immediate termination. Nor will the District permit <br />any employee to report to work or to perform his or her duties while taking prescription <br />or non-prescription medication which adversely affects the person's ability to safely <br />and effectively perform his or her job duties. Employees are required to notify <br />supervisors of all such medication use. It is a condition of employment to abide by the <br />terms of this policy. <br />In furtherance of its Drug -f=ree Workplace Policy, the District will institute drug and <br />alcohol testing procedures beginning October 1, 1998. Under this testing program, <br />special -risk and safety -sensitive candidates for employment, as well as current <br />employees under certain limited ci cumstances (Le- for cause, fitness for duty and <br />post accident), will be subject to alcohol and drug testing. A complete copy of the <br />Distr'ict's 'Drug -Free Workplace 'Program will be provided to each employee and <br />applicant in advance of the program's commencement date. <br />it is the District's desire that individuals voluntarily address and resolve any drug and <br />alcohol-related problems on a confidential basis.
