Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final February 25, 2025 <br />Flescher noted this agreement was important as the opioid settlement funds would be <br />dispensed for 17 more years. Vice Chairman Loar added that the funds were not <br />from tax -payer dollars.. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman Loar, seconded by Chairman Flescher, to <br />approve the County Attorney's Office recommendation. The motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman Loar, Commissioner Adams, Commissioner <br />Earman, and Commissioner Moss <br />14.B. 25-0282 Indian River County Boards and Committees - Updated Annual Member <br />Reappointments for 2025 <br />Recommended Action: The County Attorney recommends that the Board consider the list of committee <br />members requesting reappointment, the new applications, and appoint or reappoint <br />such members as the Board deems appropriate. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />250212 Updated Committee Members Term Renewal for Jan 2025 is <br />rev <br />250211 Updated Non -Renewal Vacancies Info List - Term Exp Jan <br />2025 <br />County Attorney Jennifer Shuler noted this item was a follow-up to the discussion <br />from the January 14, 2025 meeting, and requested the Commissioners decide on <br />member reappointments to the County's various boards and committees. The list of <br />members who wished to have their term renewed was outlined in staffs report dated <br />February 11, 2025; a list new appointments would be presented at the next Board <br />meeting. <br />Under discussion, the Commissioners received confirmation that this item was only to <br />approve reappointments; at -large members would serve until a replacement was <br />named. Additional discussion was had regarding limiting service to only one <br />committee of the applicant's choice, vetting new applicants, possible term limits for <br />at -large members, and having new applicants rank their committee preferences. <br />The Board then proceeded to vote upon term renewals for each of the relevant <br />committees. <br />Approved <br />Beach and Shore Preservation Advisory Committee members William "Tuck" Ferrell <br />and Shelby Graziani were up for renewal of another two-year term as BCC <br />Appointees. <br />Indian River County, Florida Page 14 <br />
