Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final February 25, 2025 <br />Commissioner Adams requested the opportunity to review new applicants for the <br />Member at Large positions on the Economic Development Council. She noted the <br />current members had served for ten years and it was a good time to reevaluate the <br />Council's future direction. Chairman Flescher received confirmation that <br />Commissioner Adams sought to reappoint all other positions at this time. Discussion <br />was also had regarding lack of attendance on some committees and consequences. <br />The following Economic Development Council members were recommended for <br />renewal of another four-year term: Lee D. Hunter (Local Tourist Industry <br />Representative), Joe Idlette, III (Gifford Community Representative), William J. <br />Penney (Local Banking Industry Representative), and Peter Robinson (Representative <br />from Local Developer). <br />Existing Members at Large, Todd Howder and Karl L. Zimmerman, would have their <br />reappointments considered at the next BCC meeting. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Adams, seconded by Vice Chairman Loar, <br />to approve the reappointments to the Economic Development Council, except for <br />the Members at Large positions. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5- Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman Loar, Commissioner Adams, Commissioner <br />Earman, and Commissioner Moss <br />Environmental Control Hearing Board (ECB) members Kevin Rollins (Attorney) and <br />Patrick Walther (Engineer) were up for renewal of another four-year term. <br />Commissioner Earman made mention of previously reappointed Member at Large <br />Anna Kirkland who was elected to the Mosquito Control District after her <br />appointment to the ECB; citizen members of the ECB may not be elected office <br />holders. The Board agreed to look at her position alongside the new applicants at the <br />next BCC meeting. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Adams, seconded by Commissioner <br />Earman, to approve the reappointments to the Environmental Control Hearing <br />Board. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman Loar, Commissioner Adams, Commissioner <br />Earman, and Commissioner Moss <br />Planning and Zoning Commission had three members up for renewal of another <br />four-year term: Todd Brognano (Member at Large), Calvin D.
