Q2 TASK 2: TRAINING AND EXERCISE NATIONAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (NIMS) IMPLEMENTATION All EMPA Program -funded personnel are expected to be trained emergency managers. All EMPA funded personnel must complete either the NIMS Independent Study courses and the Professional Development Series, or the FEMA National Emergency Management Basic Academy delivered either by EMI or at a sponsored state, local or other designated location. (AARs). • NIMS Training, Independent Study (IS) -100 (any version), IS -200 (any version), IS - 700 (any version), and IS -800 (any version) 4, and • Professional Development Series (PDS) or the Emergency Management Professionals Program (EMPP) Basic Academy courses listed in the chart below.
