Objective 9: By 2015, all reverse esmesis water- tfeatment plan dir-eet brine disehar-ges into the indian <br />River- lageen will be elifnineAed. The County shall eliminate brine discharge from the nanofiltration water <br />treatment process to the Indian River Lagoon. <br />Policy 9.1: By 20 10, the eCounty shall identify a viable alternative brine discharge method for the South <br />County RO Plant. <br />Policy 9.2: By20J2, the eCounty shall obtain all necessary permits to construct the associated <br />infrastructure related to the brine disposal facilities. <br />Policy 9.3: By 2013, the eCounty shall complete all construction plans and specifications associated with <br />the brine disposal facilities. <br />Policy 9.4: By2015, the eCounty shall complete the construction of all infrastructure associated with <br />the brine disposal facility for the south county RO plant, and the facility shall be operational. <br />NEW Objective 10: Water Supply Planning <br />The County shall plan for its water needs and maintain a Water Supply Facilities Work Plan, as required <br />by Florida Statutes. <br />Policy 10.1: The County shall maintain a Water Supply Facilities Work Plan (Work Plan) that is <br />coordinated with SJRWMD's Central Springs / East Coast Regional Water Supply Plan (CSEC RWSP). <br />The Work Plan and related comprehensive plan policies shall be updated, as necessary. within 18 months <br />of an update of the CSEC RWSP that affects the County_ [CSEC/RWSP = Central Springs/East <br />Coast/Regional Water Supply Plan] <br />Policy 10.2: The County's 10 -Year Water Supply Facilities Work Plan (2023-2033) is incorporated into <br />the comprehensive plan as Appendix A of the Potable Water Sub -Element. <br />Policy 10.3: The Water Supply Facilities Work Plan shall identify the traditional and alternative water <br />supply projects, along with the water conservation and reuse practices, necessary to meet the Count <br />existing and future water demands. <br />Policy 10A The Water Supply Facilities Work Plan shall address those projects identified in the <br />SJRWMD CSEC RWSP for Indian River County, and selected by county for implementation and <br />any associated implementation schedule. <br />Policy 10.5: The County will monitor and participate, as necessary, in the City of Vero Beach's water <br />supply planning_ process to ensure that the City's utility accounts for and meets the current and future <br />water needs for the respective unincorporated area within the City's service area. <br />C:\Users\ufc-prod\AppData\Local\Temp\BCL Technologies\easyPDF 8\@BCL@6414E534\@BCL@6414E534.docx 26 <br />32 <br />
